With Spot Pet Insurance, you can customize your coverage and add preventative care coverage (for an additional cost) to help keep your pet healthy. Spot Pet Insurance provides a 10% multi-pet discount on all additional pets. There is no upper age limit on coverage, so your pet, no matter how old, can get insurance. All pets are eligible regardless of their health and they do not require any vaccinations to be eligible. Their affordable and customizable plan options make it a great option when considering which pet insurance to get.
Spot Pet Insurance covers your dog or cat in case of injury or illness. Emergencies and injuries are covered by Spot. Even hereditary conditions and behavioral issues related to anxiety or compulsive behavior are covered with Spot. Spot offers extended coverage for your pet with a preventative care option at an extra cost that covers treatments to avoid illness or injury even when there is no underlying illness.
Although Spot Pet Insurance has a wide range of coverage, there are some things that are not covered. Annual physical exam fees are not covered by Spot Pet Insurance. Additionally, once your deductible is met, the exam fees associated with illnesses and accidents will be covered.
Spot Pet Insurance will not cover prescription foods, however, certain supplements and vitamins will be covered as long as it's prescribed by a licensed vet.
Spot Pet Insurance is also not responsible for pre-existing conditions, conditions that occur during the policy waiting period, non-FDA treatment, or daycare/boarding. There is no waiting period if you get preventative care, but normal coverage begins 14 days after the date listed on the policy.
Aesthetic and cosmetic dental services, boarding, breeding, pregnancies, cosmetic and elective prostheses, dental cleanings (unless there is an illness), experimental or investigational treatment, grooming, house calls, and illnesses or injuries caused by negligent or intentional activities are not covered.
Although there is no upper age limit, your pet must be at least 8 weeks old to be eligible.
There is a 30-day money-back guarantee, so you will receive a full refund of the premium amount, provided you have no had a claim covered, if you wish to cancel within the first 30 days. If you cancel after the first 30 days and have had a claim covered before, possible refunds are subject to state regulations.
Submitting a claim is easy. All you have to do is visit any licensed vet, specialist, or emergency clinic and pay the bill. You then send your bill either online, by phone, by mail, or by fax, and you will be sent a direct deposit or mailed a check to get reimbursed up to 90% of eligible vet bills.
You can submit a claim with 270 days from the date of treatment. If Spot needs medical records, they will contact your vet directly. For additional information or questions, you can either call or email Spot.
Call center working hours are Monday to Friday 8 am EST to 8 pm EST.
Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Waiting periods, annual deductibles, co-insurance, benefit limits, and exclusions may apply. To read all of the terms and conditions, view your policy documents or visit Spot's 'Policy page' on its website. Preventive Care reimbursements are based on a schedule. Accident & Illness Coverage reimbursements are based on the invoice. Products, schedules, discounts, and rates may vary and are subject to change.
