Spot Pet Insurance provides a 10% multi-pet discount on all additional pets. There is no upper age limit on coverage, so your pet, no matter how old, can get insurance. Policies

Spot Pet Insurance covers your dog or cat in case of injury or illness. Emergencies and injuries are covered by Spot. Even hereditary conditions and behavioral issues related to anxiety or compulsive behavior are covered with Spot. Spot offers extended coverage for your pet with a preventative care option at an extra cost that covers treatments to avoid illness or injury even when there is no underlying illness.

Limitations

Although Spot Pet Insurance has a wide range of coverage, there are some things that are not covered. Annual physical exam fees are not covered by Spot Pet Insurance. Additionally, once your deductible is met, the exam fees associated with illnesses and accidents will be covered.

Spot Pet Insurance will not cover prescription foods, however, certain supplements and vitamins will be covered as long as it's prescribed by a licensed vet.

Spot Pet Insurance is also not responsible for pre-existing conditions, conditions that occur during the policy waiting period, non-FDA treatment, or daycare/boarding. There is no waiting period if you get preventative care, but normal coverage begins 14 days after the date listed on the policy.

Aesthetic and cosmetic dental services, boarding, breeding, pregnancies, cosmetic and elective prostheses, dental cleanings (unless there is an illness), experimental or investigational treatment, grooming, house calls, and illnesses or injuries caused by negligent or intentional activities are not covered.

Although there is no upper age limit, your pet must be at least 8 weeks old to be eligible.

There is a 30-day money-back guarantee, so you will receive a full refund of the premium amount, provided you have no had a claim covered, if you wish to cancel within the first 30 days. Most Commonly Asked Questions About Pet Wellness Plans
Before getting started with a pet wellness plan make sure to familiarize yourself with how pet insurance works and what plan is best for your furry friend. To help you get started, we've compiled a list of some of the most commonly asked questions about wellness plans to help make sure your dog or cat is fully covered and protected.
What Are Pet Wellness Plans?
Also called preventive plans or routine care packages, wellness plans reimburse you for common procedures that you know your pet will need. Coverage usually begins as soon as you enroll or a few days after, and there are typically no deductibles involved.

Many veterinary clinics and pet hospitals offer wellness plans onsite for their patients, but you will have to use that particular veterinarian any time your pet needs to see a vet.
What Do Wellness Plans Cover?
Wellness plans are typically an additional plan/package that you pair with your pet insurance plan in order to cover expenses that are not covered by pet insurance. Some of the services that wellness plans cover are:
  • Vaccinations
    • Microchipping
      • Spaying/neutering
        • Dental care
          • Deworming
            • Wellness exams
              • Routine screenings
                • Parasite prevention
                  • Behavioral training
                    • Grooming
How Much Do Wellness Plans Cost?
Pricing and plans vary according to the company and type of pet, its age, and the state of residence. However, after an initial sign-up fee, basic wellness plans can range from $20-$25 per month.

Some wellness plans offer various tiers of coverage, so the more comprehensive coverage you choose, the more it will cost. Depending on the recommended care for your pet, a wellness plan could save you money if your pet needs to be seen frequently. It is especially helpful if you have a kitten or puppy who needs to be seen by a vet regularly during its first year of life and receive vaccinations, get spayed/neutered, etc.
Do I Need Pet Insurance Also?
By pairing a wellness plan with pet insurance, you can be more proactive about caring for your furry loved one and save money at the same time. It is much less expensive to prevent a problem by taking your pet to annual check-ups and getting them vaccinated than treating a problem once they are sick.

Wellness plans work to catch conditions early so that treatment has a better chance of being successful and less complicated, so your pet can live a long and happy life.
